the cheshire cat
This is one drawing from a series of ten, depicting character portraits from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I was invited to participate in a themed Halloween group show. This work was made specifically for that event. I spent a month doing research, re-reading the books, and watching different film adaptations from different eras, starting with silent films and ending with more contemporary ones. Basically, everything except Disney. Then, I spent a month making the work itself.
This is original hand made art that comes matted, framed, and ready to hang.
The drawing is made with colored ink, India ink, and acryla gouache.
The paper measures 6" x 8".
